The British School Al Khubairat has been at the heart of the community in Abu Dhabi since 1968. Since then they have evolved from a small school with a handful of pupils, to a modern, dynamic and highly respected British curriculum school with an enviable reputation across the region and beyond. They now have around 1,800 students of more than 50 nationalities, aged from three to 18-years-old. The American International School in Abu Dhabi is celebrating its 20th anniversary, having been established in 1995 to provide local and expatriate residents of Abu Dhabi with high quality American education, based on American standards and an international curriculum. AISA received its first accreditation in October 1997 from the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA), and in January 2010 was accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS). AISA offers education from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It was the first school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma in the UAE and later became the first school in Abu Dhabi to be authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Program (PYP). In keeping with local regulations, the Secondary School is gender segregated.
Cranleigh UK opened its doors in 1865 with the purpose of providing the local Surrey community with a first class, all-round education. The Prep School (Junior School) celebrated its centenary in 2013 and the Senior School will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2015. It is therefore entirely appropriate that Cranleigh Abu Dhabi should open its doors in September 2014 with similar aims of supporting the newly born Saadiyat Island community.
