Our Staff

Hello. My name is Miss Shida. I truly enjoy teaching computers to your children. I love seeing how nicely they learn to use the computer and how excited they are when we play the games or program a robot.I believe the technology today is growing so fast that one can really get lost in it. The great thing about COMPUTERTOTS is that it nourishes the curious minds of children, as well as introducing them to the world of computers in a very friendly and happy atmosphere. It gives me great pleasure to see a child who doesn’t know how to use the mouse and thinks that it’s a remote control, turn into a whiz by playing the games, knowing the parts of the computer and growing to use the computer as a familiar and friendly tool. Note from Directors: Miss Shida was the ICED Teacher of the Month for March 2007!

My name is Christine Trick, and I am in my fifth year of teaching with Computer Explorers. I have a B.S. in Education and a M.S. in Reading from St. John’s University. I also have 30 credits above my Masters in Computer Science. I have eight years of Early Childhood teaching experience in the New York City Board of Education. I have two young children, and I am a very active participant in their school. I enjoy the flexible hours that Computer Explorers has made available to me. I am truly fulfilled by the welcoming faces and enthusiasm of each student in my group. It gives me great pleasure to educate the great minds of tomorrow. Note from Directors: Miss Christine was the ICED Teacher of the Month for November 2011!

Hi, my name is Cecilia. I was born and raised in Peru and came to America in 1988. Today I am a naturalized US Citizen. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Sacred Heart University in 1983. I have been working with children for about 25 years now. I started as a teacher in Peru with my mother in our private preschool that we owned. After a few years, I took the opportunity to come to America and share my experience with children here, which I really enjoy. Then I started picking up jobs as a teacher’s assistant again, working in preschools that also took in my daughter. This lasted for about three years until she went to Kindergarten, and now I am with Computertots. I love the chance to teach young children the advantages of new technology and the computer. Thank you for reading my story.

Dawn Wills-Garcia has recently joined as an instructor to the Computer Explorers staff. She comes to the team with extensive PC skills gained through working in computer graphics. Dawn is active in her local school district and as a PTA member holding various board positions. In her PTA chapter, Dawn was instrumental in developing reading and creativity programs. Dawn has 2 boys who have been avid experienced PC users since the early ages of 2. She is excited to bring the teaching skills and experience she developed with her children to Computer Explorers so she can  encourage young minds to discover the exciting world of computers. She believes that PC kills are fundamental in the early stages of child development to get a head start in today’s technology driven curriculums.  Dawn also holds a B.A. from Stony Brook,  a certificate in Computer Graphics and has completed coursework in a MBA program.  Additionally, she continues to do web design.
